"Reconnect required"
You see a reconnect required notification, or a connected ad account shows as needing reconnection. This page explains why it happens and how to fix it in under a minute.
Why this happens
Advec accesses your ad accounts through tokens the platforms issue when you authorize the connection. The platforms expire or revoke these tokens for their own reasons:
- You (or your organization) changed the platform account's password.
- The platform ran a security review or session cleanup.
- Permissions on the ad account were changed or the authorizing user lost access.
- The token simply reached the end of its life — platforms cap how long one can stay valid.
None of these are errors on your side or Advec's; expiring tokens are the platforms working as designed.
How to fix it
- Open Settings in the app — connected accounts are listed there, and the affected one shows a Reconnect required badge.
- Click Reconnect next to it and re-authorize in the platform popup — same as the original connect flow.
- Monitoring resumes; your campaign selections are preserved.
While a connection is expired, monitoring for it is paused — and changes made during the gap are not retroactively detected when you reconnect. Advec resumes from a fresh snapshot. Reconnect promptly to keep your audit trail continuous.
