Website change monitoring

This page explains how Advec watches your landing pages and how to work with the changes it finds.

How it works

For each monitored page, Advec periodically loads the page in a real browser, captures a full screenshot, and compares both the page content and the rendered image against the last known state. Checks run as often as every 5 minutes, depending on the monitor's check frequency. When the page differs, Advec records a website change with the before and after.

Reading a visual diff

A website change shows the previous screenshot, the new one, and a visual diff highlighting the regions that changed. Small highlighted areas usually mean copy or image tweaks; large ones mean layout changes or a redesign — or a page that's broken outright.

Dismissing a change

If a change is expected — you shipped the new page yourself — dismiss it. Dismissing acknowledges the change and clears it from your attention; the record stays in the log, so your audit trail remains complete.

Pages linked to campaigns

Monitors created from auto-discovered landing pages are linked to the campaigns whose ads point at them. That link is what makes a website change actionable: you can see immediately which campaigns are sending paid traffic to the page that just changed.
