Connect Meta Ads

By the end of this page, Advec will be watching your Meta ad accounts for problems and changes.

Before you start

You need access to the Meta ad accounts you want to track — Advec can only see what your Meta user can see. Advec asks Meta for read-only access to your ads: it only reads your accounts and never makes changes.

Connect and choose accounts

  1. Open your client and click Connect ad account.
  2. If you've authorized Meta before, your existing connections are listed — see Assign accounts from a connection you already have below. Otherwise choose Connect a different login → Meta Ads.
  3. You're taken to Meta to sign in and approve the requested access.
  4. Back in Advec, you'll see the ad accounts your Meta user has access to. Tick the accounts that belong to this client.
  5. Confirm. Advec takes an initial snapshot of each account and starts monitoring.

There's no campaign selection here. Advec records every campaign in a connected account, so nothing is ever missed. If you want to report on part of an account, build a campaign group afterwards.

Assign accounts from a connection you already have

Your Meta authorization is stored once, at the account level, not per client. So the second time you connect an account:

  1. Open the other client and click Connect ad account.
  2. Pick the existing Meta connection from the list. Advec fetches its accounts live.
  3. Tick the accounts for this client and confirm — no Meta login, no re-authorization.

Accounts already assigned to another client are greyed out and show which client has them: one ad account belongs to one client.

You can assign multiple Meta ad accounts to one client, and spread the accounts from one Meta login across several clients.

Managing the connection later

Reconnecting or removing a Meta authorization is done in Settings → Connections, and applies to every account under it at once. See "Reconnect required".

What happens next

Advec checks each account straight away, then on your plan's schedule (see how fast Advec checks). Connecting turns on:

  • Account health — status, funding, spending limits and billing.
  • Change detection — budget, status, bid, targeting, tracking, creative and schedule changes, with who made each one, read from Meta's activity log.
  • Delivery checks — campaigns that stop delivering or overspend, on Pro and Agency.
  • Landing pages — the pages your ads point to are found and checked automatically.

The first week

For the first 7 days after Advec first reads a client's change history, everyone who makes a change is added to the client's Recognised people automatically. After that, a change by someone not on the list is flagged as not recognised and moves up a tier.

The first week is per client, not per account. An account you add to a client after its first week gets no learning period, so add the people who work in it under Recognised people on the client page.
