What Advec alerts on

Advec opens an issue for each problem below and alerts you to the critical and operational ones (see tiers).

Account health

  • Critical: the account is disabled, suspended, closed, unsettled, in a grace period or pending closure; it has no funding source; its spend cap or Meta spending limit is reached; or billing failed.
  • Operational: the account is pending risk review or settlement; Google billing setup is pending; a Meta campaign hit its spending limit or spent its lifetime budget.
  • Can't read the account: critical when it needs reconnecting or checks keep failing, operational when checks fall behind.

Delivery

  • Critical: a campaign stopped delivering; today's spend is more than 2× the daily budget on Google or 1.75× on Meta, and at least 100 in the account's currency; an active ad set or ad group has no approved ad left.
  • Operational: a single ad is disapproved or limited; a campaign is limited, ended, or failed its learning phase.

Campaigns that are very small relative to the account are capped at operational for stopped delivery and overspend.

Stopped-delivery and overspend alerts need Pro or Agency. "No approved ad left" runs on every plan.

Risky changes and who made them

  • Budget: critical when it rises by at least 50% and by at least the client's budget floor (50 in the account's currency unless you set your own, on Pro and Agency). Operational when it moves by 15% or more, or by at least the floor. Smaller moves are ambient.
  • Operational: pausing or enabling a campaign, ad set or ad; removing an active one; bid changes of 15% or more and bid strategy changes; targeting and tracking changes.
  • Critical: a primary conversion action removed, disabled or no longer primary.
  • Ambient: creative edits, schedule dates and frequency caps.

Google Ads change history and Meta's activity log show who made each change. After a client's first week, a status, removal, budget, bid, targeting or tracking change by someone who isn't one of its recognised people moves up a tier. Changes made by automation (rules, scripts, recommendations) are never ambient. In a protected campaign group, any budget or status change is critical. More than 10 changes in one check of an account become one "Bulk edit" issue.

Landing pages

A page is down after 3 checks in a row fail: an error status or no response. It's critical when the page is linked to an active campaign, operational otherwise, and it resolves on the first check that succeeds.

Pacing and performance

Underpacing, overpacing, high CPC, low CTR, and high or low CPA are operational. They run once a day on completed days, never today. Pacing needs a monthly budget, which needs Pro or Agency. Performance bands compare each day with the same weekday in past weeks, so they need at least 4 weeks of daily history before they can fire. See Budgets and pacing.

These are schedules, not guarantees: a platform's rate limits can delay a check.

Low-volume and dayparted campaigns don't trigger stopped-delivery alerts just because an hour was quiet. Advec alerts only when that hour had at least 10 impressions on each of the last few same weekdays, or — as a 24-hour fallback — when a full day was empty after recent days that each had at least 10. The hourly test needs about 3 weeks of hourly data.
