Reading a change

This page walks through the change detail view so you can read any change at a glance.

The anatomy of a change

Open any change from the dashboard, a project's change feed, or a notification. Every change shows:

  • What changed — the field, in plain terms (e.g., daily budget, campaign status, targeting).
  • Old value → new value — the state before and after. For a budget change that's two numbers; for targeting or creative changes it's the changed settings.
  • Severity — critical, moderate, or minor. See Understanding change detection for what these mean.
  • Where — the campaign, ad account, and platform the change belongs to.
  • When it was detected — the timestamp of the poll that found it.

"Detected at" is when Advec's check found the change — polls run every 30 minutes, so the actual edit happened up to half an hour earlier.

Reading it in practice

The question a change answers is: did performance shift because of this? A critical budget change on Tuesday followed by a CPA jump on Wednesday is a lead worth following. Use the campaign tag to pull up the same campaign's other recent changes and build the timeline.
