Notifications and the daily digest
This page explains the two ways Advec tells you about changes: in-app notifications and the daily email digest.
In-app notifications
The bell icon in the app shows a notification for each detected change and for account events that need your attention — most importantly reconnect required, which means monitoring has stopped for a connection until you re-authorize it. Click a notification to jump to the underlying change.
The daily email digest
Once a day, Advec emails you a digest of everything detected in the last 24 hours, grouped by project and ordered by severity — critical changes first. If nothing changed, no email: an empty digest isn't sent to fill your inbox.
The digest goes out at 08:00 UTC. In Australian time that's during the evening (6pm AEST / 7pm AEDT), so your digest covers the day's activity and arrives before the next workday.
Email frequency preference
You can control digest emails per project in the project's settings — useful when one client's account is under active management (and you expect lots of changes) while another should stay quiet.
Critical changes currently surface in-app immediately but by email only in the next digest. If a change can't wait, the in-app feed is the live view.
