Set up alerts
When Advec opens a critical or operational issue for one of your clients, it sends an alert to your channels: email, Slack or a webhook. This page shows you where your alerts go today and how to add more places.
What you already have
Advec creates a verified Account email channel for your login address when you sign up. Unless you set up rules for a client, every active, verified channel gets every critical and operational alert, so your login email is where alerts go to start with. Ambient issues never alert: they wait in the inbox and the digest.
To check, open Settings and click Manage channels under Alert channels. Each channel shows whether it's verified, when it last sent, and failures in the last 24 hours. If you don't see an Account email channel, add an email channel for your login address there.
Add Slack
Under Add a channel, choose Slack webhook, give it a label, and paste an incoming webhook URL from Slack for the Slack channel you want alerts in. The URL must be an https:// link on hooks.slack.com.
Add a webhook
Choose Webhook and paste an https:// URL on your own server. It can't be a private, loopback or link-local address. Advec then shows a signing secret once — save it, because it isn't shown again. Every request is signed with that secret so your server can check it really came from Advec. See Alert channels for the payload and how to check the signature.
A channel's URL can't be edited. To change it, remove the channel and add it again.
Verify a channel
An email channel for your own login address is verified as soon as you add it. Every other channel shows Not verified — send a test and receives nothing until you click Send test and the test goes through. You can send up to 10 tests an hour across all your channels.
Choose who gets what per client
To route one client's critical and operational alerts to different channels, or hold operational alerts overnight, use Alert settings at the bottom of the client page. See Alert rules and quiet hours.
Alerts are delivered to channels on the Pro and Agency plans. On Free you can still add and test channels, and issues still appear in the inbox, the bell and your digest, but nothing is sent to a channel — and nothing is saved up to send if you upgrade later. Per-client rules also need Pro or Agency.
