Managing clients

This page covers the day-to-day housekeeping of clients: their settings, campaign groups, recognised people, notes and deleting a client.

Editing a client

Click Edit on the client page to change its name and description. Its connected ad accounts are listed on the same page, and its report logo is set when you build a report.

Alert settings

At the bottom of the client page, Alert settings holds everything that tunes how Advec treats this client:

  • Timezone — quiet hours are read in this time zone.
  • Digest frequency — daily, weekly, monthly or off, or Account default to follow your own setting. See Notifications and the digest.
  • Monthly budget and Budget floor — see Budgets and pacing.
  • Client default — the client's alert rule: which channels get critical and operational alerts, an escalation channel, and quiet hours. See Alert rules and quiet hours.
  • Campaign group overrides — per group, a Protected checkbox, a group monthly budget and, on Agency, custom routing.

Monthly budgets, the budget floor, alert rules and protected groups need the Pro or Agency plan.

Tracked campaigns

By default a client covers every campaign in its accounts. Edit tracked campaigns narrows the client's feed, reporting and digests to the campaigns you choose. Every campaign is still recorded, but campaigns outside the selection don't open issues.

Campaign groups

A campaign group is a named selection of the client's campaigns. To create one, open the client and click New group. In the member editor, each of the client's ad accounts expands into its campaigns, and for each account you choose either:

  • Whole account — every campaign in it, including campaigns created later.
  • Selected campaigns — only the ones you tick.

Each group gets its own change feed, reporting table, landing pages, and reports. Groups are useful when one client runs distinct workstreams — brand vs. performance, one product line, a single market — and you want to report on them separately.

Give a group its own email digest frequency and it sends its own summary as well; choose In client digest only or off and only the client digest covers it (if the client's digest is on).

Recognised people

Recognised people on the client page lists the people you expect to make changes in its accounts. After the client's first week, changes by anyone else are flagged as not recognised and move up a tier. To add someone, choose Google Ads or Meta, enter their email or identifier, add an optional label, then click Add person. See Understanding change detection.

Client notes

Each client has dated notes. Use them to log context the change feed can't know, such as "budget increase agreed for EOFY push", so the change history later explains why things changed.

Filtering changes

Within a client (or one of its campaign groups), the ad change list can be filtered by campaign, change type, tier, platform and date. Filters are how you turn "347 changes this month" into the six that matter for today's question.

Managing connections

The ad accounts under a client are reached through a connection — the authorization you granted Meta or Google. One connection can serve several clients, so reconnecting or removing it is done in one place: Settings → Connections. See "Reconnect required".

Removing a single ad account from a client is done on the client page and affects only that client.

Deleting a client

When an engagement ends, click Delete client. The client leaves your client list, and Advec stops checking its ad accounts and website monitors, which frees those accounts to be assigned to another client.
