Set up website monitoring

By the end of this page, Advec will be watching your landing pages: alerting you when one goes down, and showing you when one changes.

Why monitor landing pages?

Your campaigns are only as good as the pages they send traffic to. A landing page that breaks or changes without your knowledge — a site outage, a broken form, a removed offer — silently wastes ad spend. Advec watches the pages themselves, not just the ads.

Automatic: pages discovered from your ads

Once you've connected an ad account, Advec looks at every ad creative in it, finds the landing pages they point to, and adds monitors for them automatically — linked to the campaigns that use them and to the client that owns the account. There's nothing to configure; new landing pages in new creatives are picked up the same way.

Manual: add any URL

You can also monitor any page yourself:

1. Open your client and find Website monitors.
2. Click Add monitor, then enter a name and the URL.
3. Save. Advec takes a baseline screenshot and starts checking.

Use this for pages your ads don't link to directly — a pricing page, a checkout step, a client's homepage.

What monitoring does

Advec runs two separate checks on every monitored page, automatic or manual:

• Is it up? Advec requests the page on your plan's schedule. After 3 checks in a row fail — an error status or no response — it opens a page down issue and alerts you. It's critical when the page is linked to an active campaign, operational otherwise, and it resolves on the first check that succeeds.
• Has it changed? Advec captures a full screenshot, daily by default, and compares it with the last one. A visual difference of 5% or more is recorded as a website change, with a before and after, and a notification in the bell.
